Active ingredients:

Verapamil Hydrochloride (prolonged-release capsules) - 180 mg.

VERATARD is a selective phenylalkylamine calcium blocker. VERATARD has antihypertensive, antianginal, anti-ischemic and anti-arrhythmic properties. It has effects upon arterial smooth muscle, myocardial cells and cells of the cardiac conduction system by blocking Са2+- channels. It lowers heart rate, increases myocardial perfusion and reduces coronary spasm. It decreases vascular peripheral resistance and lowers blood pressure by vasodilation without reflex tachycardia.

Indications

• arterial hypertension;
• ischemic heart disease: stable angina; variant angina pectoris (Prinzmetal's angina);
• paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia;
• atrial fibrillation/flutter (VERATARD should not be used for atrial fibrillation/flutter in patients with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome).

Dosage and pharmaceutical form:

prolonged-release capsules 180 mg, 10 capsules in blister, 3 blisters in package.
