Active ingredients:
Rifampicin - 150 mg.
RIFAMPICIN is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum first line antituberculous medicine. RIFAMPICIN is particularly active against the rapidly growing extracellular organisms and also has bactericidial activity intracellularly. Rifampicin has activity against slow and intermittently-growing Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae; grampositive (staphylococci) and gram-negative (meningococci, gonococci) microorganisms.
Indications
RIFAMPICIN is used in combination therapy for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms:
- tuberculosis: In combination with other active anti-tuberculosis medicinal products in the treatment of all forms of tuberculosis, and tuberculous meningitis. Rifadin is also effective against most atypical strains of Mycobacteria;
- nontuberculous infections caused by RIFAMPICIN-susceptible microorganisms, including brucellosis, legionnaires’ disease, leprosy, and severe staphylococcal infections;
- prophylaxis of meningococcal meningitis: For the treatment of asymptomatic carriers of N. meningitidis to eliminate meningococci from the nasopharynx.
Dosage and pharmaceutical form:
capsules 150 mg, 10 capsules in blister, 2 blisters in package; 90 capsules in container and package; 1000 capsules in container.
