Rifampicin - 150 mg.

RIFAMPICIN is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum first line antituberculous medicine. RIFAMPICIN is particularly active against the rapidly growing extracellular organisms and also has bactericidial activity intracellularly. Rifampicin has activity against slow and intermittently-growing Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae; grampositive (staphylococci) and gram-negative (meningococci, gonococci) microorganisms.

RIFAMPICIN is used in combination therapy for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms:

  • tuberculosis: In combination with other active anti-tuberculosis medicinal products in the treatment of all forms of tuberculosis, and tuberculous meningitis. Rifadin is also effective against most atypical strains of Mycobacteria;
  • nontuberculous infections caused by RIFAMPICIN-susceptible microorganisms, including brucellosis, legionnaires’ disease, leprosy, and severe staphylococcal infections;
