Active ingredients:

Doxycycline Hyclate - 100 mg.

DOXYCYCLINE is a semi-synthetic broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, a member of the tetracycline group of antibiotics. DOXYCYCLINE is a protein synthesis inhibitor, inhibiting the binding of aminoacyl-tRNA to the mRNA-ribosome complex It is active against gram-positive (aerobic cocci, e.g., Staphylococcus spp. (including penicillinase-producing ones), Streptococcus spp. (including Streptococcus Pneumoniae); aerobic spore-forming bacteria, e.g., Bacillus anthracis; aerobic nonspore-forming bacteria, e.g., Clostridium spp. Doxycycline is also active against gram-negative bacteria: aerobic cocci, e.g., Neisseria gonorrhoeae; aerobic bacteria, e.g., Escherichia coli; Shigella spp, Salmonella spp, Enterobacter spp, Klebsiella spp, Bordetella pertussis, and also Rickettsia spp, Treponema spp, Mycoplasma spp., Chlamydia spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp, Serratia spp, and most strains of Bacteroides fragilis are doxycycline-resistant. DOXYCYCLINE is well absorbed and its half-life is 18 to 24 hours.

Indications

DOXYCYCLINE is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by DOXYCYCLINE-susceptible microorganisms:

  • respiratory and ear, nose, throuat infections;
  • skin and soft tissue purulent infections (including acneiform rash);
  • urogenital infections (including gonorrhea, primary and secondary syphilis);
  • typhus fever;
  • brucellosis;
  • rickettsiosis;
  • trachoma;
  • clamidiosis;
  • tropical malaria;
  • cholera;
  • leptospirosis.

Dosage and pharmaceutical form:

capsules 100 mg, 10 capsules in blister, 1 blister in package.
