Active ingredients:

Cefotaxime as sterile cefotaxime sodium - 500 mg or 1000 mg.

CEFOTAXIME-BCPP is a beta-lactam antibiotic in the third-generation class of cephalosporins for intramuscular or intravenous administration. This broad-spectrum antibiotic is active against numerous gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It is effective against strains resistant to penicillin, streptomycin and sulfanilamides.

Indications

CEFOTAXIME-BCPP is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms:

• infections of the ear, nose, throat (tonsillitis, otitis);
• respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia, pleuritis, abscesses);
• urogenital tract infections;
• septicemia, bacteremia;
• intra-abdominal infections (including peritonitis);
• skin and soft tissue infections;
• bone and joint infections;
• meningitis (excluding those caused by Listeria spp.) and other CNS infections;
• also used for the prevention of postoperative infection (gastrointestinal tract, urological and obstetrical surgery).

Dosage and pharmaceutical form:

powder for solutions for injection 500 mg or 1000 mg in vials; 1 vial without the package, 55 vials in the box; 1 vial in the package; 1 vial together with solvent (water for injection) 5 ml in ampoule per package.
