Active ingredients:
Lisinopril Dihydrate - 20 mg, hydrochlorothiazide - 12.5 mg.
LIPRAZIDE is a combination antihypertensive medication containing the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor lisinopril and thiazide diuretic hydrochlorothiazide. Lisinopril inhibits the angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) that catalyses the conversion of angiotensin I to the vasoconstrictor peptide, angiotensin II. Inhibition of ACE results in decreased concentrations of angiotensin II which results in decreased vasopressor activity and reduced aldosterone secretion. Lisinopril lowers blood pressure by primarily suppression of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic and an antihypertensive agent. It affects the distal renal tubular mechanism of electrolyte and water reabsorption and increases excretion of sodium and chloride, i.e., increases diuresis. This results in the decreased total circulating blood volume and reduced blood pressure. Significant lowering of systolic and diastolic pressure may be noticed on the 3rd or 4th day of administration of hydrochlorothiazide. A stable antihypertensive effect may be observed after 3-4 weeks of administration of liprazide. The combination of lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide is more effective comparing with individual effects of those medications.

- indicated in the management of hypertension in patients who have been stabilized on the individual components given in the same proportions.
