Active ingredients:

Lincomycin Hydrochloride - 250 mg.

LINCOMYCIN HYDROCHLORIDE is a bacteriostatic lincozamide antibiotic. Lincomycin inhibits bacterial protein biosynthesis by irreversibly binding to the ribosomal 50s sub-unit and inhibiting the translocation of peptides.. Lincomycin may also exert bactericidal effect depending on susceptibility of microorganisms and on LINCOMYCIN concentrations. LINCOMYCIN is effective against anaerobic gram-positive non-spore forming bacteria, anaerobic and microaerophilic cocci and microaerophilic streptococci, aerobic gram-positive cocci. The following microorganisms are LINCOMYCIN-resistant: Streptococcus faecalis, Neisseria spp., most strains of Haemophilus influenzae, Pseudomonas spp. and other gram negative microorganisms.

Indications

LINCOMYCIN HYDROCHLORIDE is indicated for the treatment of infectious caused by susceptible microorganisms:

• infection of upper respiratory tract, including tonsillitis, pharyngitis, otitis media, sinusitis, scarlet fever and diphtheria (as an adjuvant therapy);
• respiratory tract infections, including acute bronchitis, exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia;
• skin and soft tissue infections, including felon, furuncles, abscesses, acne, wound infections, erysipelatous inflammations, lymphadenitis, mastitis, cutaneous gangrene, cellulitis, impetigo;
• bone and joint infections, including osteomyelitis, purulent arthritis;
• bacterial dysentery.

Dosage and pharmaceutical form:

capsules 250 mg, 10 capsules in blister, 2 blisters in package.
