Active ingredients:
1 ml of solution contains Bupivacaine Hydrochloride (as monohydrate) - 5 mg, and Adrenalin (epinephrine) - 0.005 m.
BUPINECAINE is a combination medication, which pharmacological properties are due to its active ingredients bupivacaine and epinephrine. Bupivacaine is a local amino amide anaesthetic. It acts by stabilizing neuron membranes and preventing the generation and conduction of neural impulses, and by increasing the excitability threshold of nerve fibers, and reducing the action potential. It reversibly blocks impulse conduction along nerve fibers while influencing the sodium channel. When bupivacaine enters the systemic circulation, it affects the cardiovascular and central nervous systems. Epinephrine is an adrenoceptor agonist that directly stimulates alpha- and beta-adrenoceptors. It is used in order to prolong the action of bupivacaine and reduce the risk of systemic adverse reactions. Adding a vasoconstrictor reduces the absorption rate of anaesthetic and leads to an increase and prolongation of activity of the medication.
Indications
BUPINECAINE is used in various applications of local anaesthetic (pain relief from trauma, surgical interventions, invasive diagnostic methods and therapeutic procedures):
- lumbar epidural anaesthesia;
- caudal epidural anaesthesia;
- peripheral nerve block.
Dosage and pharmaceutical form:
solution for injection, 5 ml in ampoule, 5 ampoules in cassette, 1 or 2 cassettes in package.
