Allopurinol / M04A A01

Active ingredients:

Allopurinol - 100 mg.

ALLOPURINOL is is a xanthine-oxidase inhibitor and is used for the treatment of gout. ALLOPURINOL and its main metabolite oxipurinol lower the level of uric acid in plasma and urine by inhibition of xanthine oxidase, the enzyme catalyzing the oxidation of hypoxanthine to xanthine and xanthine to uric acid. This reduces serum urates and prevents their accumulation in the tissues and kidneys.
